Horst Gallert
Horst Gallert (born July 23, 1937 in Bautzen ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1990 to 1994 he was a member of the Saxon state parliament and from 1992 to 2001 district administrator in the Bautzen district.
Life and work
Horst Gallert attended the extended secondary school in Bautzen and passed his Abitur there. He learned to be a car mechanic and then went on to study engineering at the engineering school for conveyor technology in Bautzen until 1962 .
He worked as a technologist at VEB DKK Scharfenstein until 1963 and from 1964 to 1969 at VEB Armaturenwerk Wehrsdorf . He then worked as sales manager at the Guido Hermann machine factory in Großschönau until 1987 and as operations director at VEB Späneförderanlagen Schirgiswalde from 1987 to May 1990 . From June of that year he was then employed as managing director at Ernst Teubner (Stahl- und Fordanlagenbau GmbH).
He is Protestant, married and has two children.
politics
Horst Gallert became a member of the Eastern CDU in 1963 and had been a member of its district executive since 1972. Since 1965 he was a member of the district council in the Bautzen district . After the fall of the Wall , he became a member of the Schirgiswalde City Council in May 1990.
He was elected to the Saxon state parliament in 1990 through constituency 33 (Bautzen II - Löbau II) of the CDU Saxony . He was able to prevail in his constituency with 58.5% against the SPD with 13.5% and the PDS with 10.7%. In parliament he was a member of the Constitutional and Legal Committee and the Committee on Economics and Labor. He only remained a member of the state parliament for this one electoral term.
During the time of his state parliament mandate, he was also elected as district administrator in the Bautzen district and held this office from September 3, 1992 to August 31, 2001. After that he no longer stood for election.
From January 26th to April 5th, 1995, Gallert was President of the Saxon District Association .
