Horst Hasslinger

Horst Haßlinger ( Horst Andreas Haßlinger ; born September 16, 1943 in Langenzenn ) is a former German athlete .

Career

Haßlinger was born the youngest of four children. He lost his father on May 8, 1945 in Roth in central Franconia in a bomb attack. After successfully completing elementary school, the sports-loving boy learned the profession of typesetter . With the independence and earnings he gained, he was also able to relieve his mother. He did his military service with the border police in the Federal Border Guard , where his speed brought him first successes.

The 1.81 m tall sprinter weighed 76 kg during his successful times when he competed for the LAC Quelle Fürth club . For the LAC he won the first international medal with third place at the indoor championships in Vienna in the round relay. In the course of his career he achieved best times of 10.4 s (on 100 meters); 21.0 s (at 200 meters); 47.2 s (at 400 meters). He ran the 10.4 s over 100 meters repeatedly in 1964, 1965 and 1972.

Following his active career, he was employed as a commercial clerk by his former sponsor , the Quelle company , in the Franconian town of Fürth . The father of three children lived with his family from 1975 to 1989 in Neunkirchen am Brand , in the Forchheim district .

Since the end of 1992 the divorced pensioner lives in Nuremberg and is dedicated to volunteer work for the elderly - and the disabled - Sport .
