Horst Hager

Horst Hager (born January 9, 1933 in Heidelberg ; † April 5, 2018 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Hager was born in Heidelberg, attended elementary school and learned the trade of carpenter , which he practiced for three years. In 1953 he joined the SPD and in 1958 the public services, transport and traffic union (since 2001 in ver.di ). He took the second education path and studied social work . In 1958 he passed the state examination. Until 1990 he headed the youth welfare center of the workers' welfare in Pinneberg .

In 1965 he was elected chairman of the SPD local association Pinneberg. From 1966 to 1974 Hager was a member of the city council of Pinneberg, and from 1971 to 1975 a member of the district council of the Pinneberg district .

1975 Hager was the SPD state list in the Diet Schleswig-Holstein selected. He also entered the state parliament in 1979 and 1983 via the state list. He received the direct mandate in the Pinneberg constituency in 1987, 1988 and 1992. He held the mandate until 1996. Hager belonged to a number of state parliament committees and was parliamentary representative in the Engholm I cabinet in the education, science, youth and culture department and in the Engholm II cabinet in the labor and social affairs, youth, health and energy department. In the Simonis I cabinet , he held this position in the departments of labor, social affairs, youth and health as well as women, education, training and sport. In 1994 Hager took part in the 10th Federal Assembly. From 1976 to 1992 Hager was a member of the State Youth Welfare Committee.

Hager was married and had six children.
