Horst Indlekofer (* 1941 in Wertheim ) is a German civil engineer and former university professor at the FH Aachen .

Education

After attending school in Wertheim and Konstanz with Abitur at Heinrich-Suso-Gymnasium Konstanz in 1961 and after completing basic military service, Horst Indlekofer studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart with a focus on structural engineering , construction management and soil mechanics . He completed his studies in the winter semester of 1967/68 with a diploma and the grade : Very good.

job

After a brief engineering activity in traffic engineering at the Baden-Württemberg motorway office , he took up a position at the chair for hydraulic engineering and water management at the Rheinisch Westfälische Technische Hochschule in Aachen ; initially from 1969 as a research assistant , later from 1972 as chief engineer. In 1970 he was appointed head of the hydraulic engineering laboratory of the Institute for Hydraulic Engineering at RWTH .

The doctorate to Dr.-Ing. He graduated from RWTH Aachen University in 1972 with the dissertation : Contribution to the determination of the influence of a corner on the overfall performance of a shaft overflow consisting of straight sections in plan with summa cum laude . In 1973, he received the Borchers plaque from RWTH Aachen University for his excellent test results .

As a NATO scholar , Horst Indlekofer stayed at Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 1976/77 . There he worked as a visiting professor doing research and teaching on fundamental questions about the stability and convergence of numerical-mathematical models for shallow water waves and bed load transport .

Horst Indlekofer dealt with numerous research projects in hydraulic engineering. He was involved in the planning and execution of hydraulic engineering projects for dams , flood retention basins , river barriers and river structures.

In 1982, Horst Indlekofer moved from RWTH Aachen to a medium-sized Aachen engineering office. There he worked as a senior engineer projects related to urban water management , waste management , hydraulic engineering, water management , Construction Management , landfill and road construction .

professorship

In 1983 he received the call to the FH Aachen to the professor for the Department of Hydraulic and Water. For years he worked as a professor for landscaping, hydrology and river basin management at the FH Aachen. On August 10, 2007, he celebrated his 40th anniversary with the company. He retired on February 29, 2008.

Horst Indlekofer is married to his wife Gertrud and has three children.
