Horst Koehler (rider)
Horst Köhler (born November 14, 1938 in Röbel , German Reich ) is a former German dressage rider .
Life
Köhler was GDR dressage champion twelve times, mainly thanks to his white horse "New Snow", which reached the old age of 32 years.
Köhler took part in the Olympic Games in 1968 and 1972 together with Wolfgang Müller and Gerhard Brockmüller . After the promotion of equestrian sport by the DTSB ceased in the mid-1970s , he moved to the Neustadt State Stud (Dosse) . Here he was in charge of the branch in Potsdam / Bergholz-Rehbrücke for dressage horses until the mid-1990s. After the reunification he managed to gain a foothold in the upscale national sport with the stallion "Abendwind". Among other things, the couple won the championship of the Berlin-Brandenburg regional association. Köhler lives in Potsdam and is married.
