Horst Uhse (born April 19, 1917 in Glogau , Silesia , German Reich ; † March 3, 1978 in Baden-Baden ) was a German actor in the stage, film, radio and television and a director in radio and television.

Live and act

The son of a major attended the Hochschule für Theater in Frankfurt am Main and began his stage career in 1938 at the municipal theater in Heidelberg. This was followed by an obligation to Freiburg, which Uhse was barely able to fulfill during the entire Second World War, since he had moved in from 1942 to 1945. Immediately after the end of the war, he settled in Baden-Baden, where he was hired by the local radio ( SWF ), initially as a radio play speaker, and later as a clerk. In the same city he occasionally worked as an actor at the city theater.

Uhse soon moved away from the classic speaking stage, made recordings and performed in cabarets. In addition, Bayerischer Rundfunk hired him as a director. He held the same position for SWF television and was most recently head of entertainment. From 1954 onwards there were also offers from film, and the following year from television too, where he only appeared in front of the camera. His roles there were rather small and not very remarkable, towards the end of his life Uhse also took part in three Tatort episodes.
