Horst Wagenführ

Horst Wagenführ (born May 15, 1903 in Langewiesen ; † 1989 ) was a German economist .

Life

Wagenführ studied political science and philosophy at the universities of Jena , Innsbruck , Vienna , Kiel and Leipzig . In 1928 he was promoted to Dr. rer. pole. PhD. From 1929 to 1933 he worked as an assistant at the Institute for Economic Monitoring at the Nuremberg University of Economics and Social Sciences . In 1933, as a member of the NSDAP, he also published some translations of Mussolini's writings. In 1933 he completed his habilitation with the thesis “The System Thought in Political Economy”. He then worked as a lecturer at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlinand from 1934 to 1944 as a permanent adjunct professor of economics, finance and statistics at the University of Erlangen . At the same time he taught economics at the administrative academies in Nuremberg and Würzburg .

During World War II he worked for the Wehrmacht High Command . After 1945 Wagenführ worked for the market and opinion research institute Wickert in Tübingen . In 1966 he founded the Institute for Economic Future Research in Tübingen and became its director in Illereichen in 1973 .
