Houston McTear
Houston Edward McTear (born February 12, 1957 in Okaloosa County , Florida , United States , † November 1, 2015 in Stockholm , Sweden ) was an American sprinter .
On May 9, 1975, he set the world record over 100 yards of 9.0 s in Winter Park .
In 1976 he qualified in the US trials as second over 100 m for the Olympic Games in Montreal , but had to leave his place due to injury to Johnny Jones .
In 1978 he was US indoor champion over 60 yards and in 1990 Swedish indoor champion over 60 m .
In 1993 he married his Swedish trainer Linda Haglund .
Houston McTear died in November 2015 at the age of 58 from complications from lung cancer . His wife Linda only survived him by three weeks.
