Howard Bloom
Howard Bloom (born June 25, 1943 in Buffalo , New York ) is an American author. In the 1970s and 1980s he was a PR agent for well-known rock stars such as Prince , Billy Joel and Michael Jackson . In 1988 he fell ill with chronic fatigue syndrome . Since the mid-1990s, he has published several books on topics such as social intelligence and group behavior .
biography
Early years
As a child, Howard Bloom developed a keen interest in scientific topics, especially cosmology and microbiology . At age 12 he won the Westinghouse Science Award for a computer design. At 16 he was working as a research assistant at one of the world's largest cancer research centers, the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He earned a degree from New York University ( " Magna cum laude "), but the turned at the age of 25 years, the music business and became among other things, publisher of a rock magazine.

In 1976 Bloom founded the Howard Bloom Organization PR agency, which represented a number of well-known rock musicians, including Prince , Billy Joel , the band Styx , Michael Jackson , Cyndi Lauper , the Talking Heads , Lionel Richie , ZZ Top , Bette Midler , AC / DC , Simon & Garfunkel , John Mellencamp , Earth, Wind & Fire , Kiss and Bob Marley .
author
Bloom's career took a new turn in 1988 as a result of his chronic fatigue syndrome. Since the mid-1990s, he has published several books that deal, among other things, with the behavior of groups and social intelligence. Bloom describes his area of interest as "paleopsychology", the interdisciplinary research into the development of social intelligence.
