Howard Grubb

Sir Howard Grubb (born July 28, 1844 in Rathmines, County Dublin , † September 16, 1931 in Monkstown, County Dublin) was an Irish inventor , astronomer and optician . He is considered the inventor of the reflex sight .

Life

His father was Thomas Grubb, the co-founder of the company Sir Howard Grubb, Parsons and Co. was. In 1864 he started to work in his father's company. He became a member of the Royal Society , the Royal Astronomical Society and the Royal Dublin Society . He worked as an optician in the company. In 1887 he was knighted . Grubb was married and had six children. The asteroid (1058) Grubba is named after him.
