Hrafnhildur Lúthersdóttir ( ˈr̥apn̥ˌhɪltʏr ˈlu: tʰɛr̥sˌtouhtɪr ; born August 2, 1991 in Hafnarfjörður ) is an Icelandic swimmer .

Athletic career

Hrafnhildur took part in the Summer Olympics for Iceland in 2012 and 2016 and reached the 6th final place in the latter over 100 m breaststroke . She also won two silver and one bronze medals at the European Swimming Championships in London in 2016 and came in sixth at the World Swimming Championships in Kazan in 2015 .

Hrafnhildur set a series of personal bests; Among other things, she holds eleven Icelandic records on the short course (25 m) and ten national records on the long course (50 m). She was named Swimmer of the Year ( Icelandic sundkona ársins ) 2010 by the Icelandic Swimming Association ; also she was honored in the same year as Hafnarfjörðurs Sportswoman of the Year ( Icelandic íþróttakona Hafnarfjarðar ).

Hrafnhildur studied Public Relations at the University of Florida and graduated in 2015.
