Hugo Michael Sekyra

Hugo Michael Sekyra (born June 10, 1941 in Mannersdorf am Leithagebirge , † November 19, 1998 in Vienna ) was an Austrian manager .

Sekyra studied law at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1964. He began his professional career at Ranshofen Aluminum Works . After various activities in the field of nationalized industry , he headed Österreichische Industrieholding AG from 1986 to 1992 . His personal assistant at the time was Alexander Wrabetz . He initiated extensive restructuring in the nationalized industry, which had become necessary due to the crisis. During an appearance in front of hundreds of angry steel workers in Kapfenberg , Sekyra made the critical situation of the nationalized sector clear: “We are broke. You understand: We are broke! "

Sekyra shot herself in 1998 due to financial problems. He was buried at the Simmering cemetery .
