Human is a freelance documentary by the French photographer and journalist Yann Arthus-Bertrand . The film consists largely of interview sequences with over 2000 people from more than 60 countries around the world, which are interrupted by high-resolution aerial and landscape shots from different continents. The film had its world premiere at the 2015 Venice Film Festival .
In a German television interview about the world premiere in Venice, Bertrand said about the background of the film and the relationship between his famous landscape shots and people:
“There is not nature on one side and humans on the other. We are part of nature. The human being is always present in my landscape photographs, even when nobody is in sight. "
The film can be viewed on YouTube . It will also be released on Blu-ray Disc and its soundtrack on CD-ROM . In addition, the illustrated book Human about the film will be released on September 17th .
The GoodPlanet Foundation , founded by Bertrand in 2005 and which already supported the distribution of his documentary film Home from 2009, should now endeavor to ensure that Human will also find the greatest possible worldwide distribution in cinemas, schools and the Internet until the General Assembly of the United Nations .
