history
The roots
The fact that the two cities Ohligs and forest grew strong and counted together already 40,000 inhabitants in 1900, quickly came to the desire of existing higher boys' schools , which the classes VI - UIII ( Sexta to Untertertia included) to a secondary school merge and expand. The type of school was chosen to meet the needs of the population and to facilitate the later incorporation of a secondary school, which was intended from the outset . In May 1902, the Wald town council decided to set up the school. The building was inaugurated in 1904. After the first final examination of the Realschule had taken place in 1905, the school was attached to a Reform realprogymnasium a year later . In 1907 it was expanded to a full institution and the first high school graduates left the school in 1912.
