Hussein Bayram (born November 28, 1975 in Angers ) is a former French boxer.

Amateur career

The approximately 1.82 m tall left-hand boom won 90 of 115 amateur fights and won the bronze medal in the welterweight division at the 1995 Summer Military World Games in Rome . He was only eliminated in the semi-finals against Andrei Gogolew . In July 1996 he took part in the Summer Olympics in Atlanta , but was defeated in the first fight against Marian Simion .

In addition, he reached the 5th place at the European Championships in 1996, 1998 and 2000, after he was eliminated in the quarter-finals against Serhij Dsindsiruk , Oleg Saitow and Mihály Kótai . At the 1999 World Championships in Houston , he lost in the first fight against Oleg Mashkin .

In 1997, 1999 and 2000 he became French welterweight champion.

Professional career

In October 2000 he played his first professional fight. In his tenth fight he suffered his first loss to Jimmy Colas, but defeated this in the rematch. In September 2002 he won the French light middleweight championship and defended the title four times. On November 6, 2004 he boxed in Riesa for the European Championship of the EBU , but lost to the unbeaten Serhiy Dsindsiruk (28-0). After seven wins in a row, he fought again for the EBU-EM on July 7, 2007 in Cologne , but lost to Saurbek Bajsangurow (15-0).

After ten consecutive victories, including against Ismael El Massoudi (29-2) and Damien Bertu (22-4), he fought for the EBU title for the third time on May 27, 2011 in Ústí nad Labem, Czech Republic , but lost this time too against Lukáš Konečný (46-3).
