Hvidovre Sogn is a parish municipality ( Danish : Sogn ) in Hvidovre , a suburb of the Danish capital Copenhagen (Danish: København ). Until 1970 it belonged to Harde Sokkelund Herred in what was then Københavns Amt , then to Hvidovre Municipality in the reduced Københavns Amt , which became part of the Hovedstaden region as part of the municipal reform on January 1, 2007 .
Of the 53,505 inhabitants of Hvidovre, 10,601 live in the parish of the same name (as of January 1, 2020). In the parish are the churches “Hvidovre Kirke” and “Maria Magdalene Kirken” in the Hvidovre Hospital .
Neighboring municipalities are Risbjerg Sogn in the south and Avedøre Sogn in the south-west , further in the neighboring Brøndby Municipality to the west, Brøndbyøster Sogn in the neighboring Rødovre Municipality to the north and Hendriksholm Sogn in the neighboring København Municipality in the north-east and Aalholm Sogn in the east and Vigerslev Sogn in the east .
