HyperGlaive -

HyperGlaive is the second studio album by the American heavy metal band Mega Colossus (previously "Colossus"). It was released in 2016 by Aftermath Music in the formats vinyl and download and in 2017 by the German music label Killer Metal Records as a CD version.

Emergence

The album was recorded by Al Jacob at the Warrior Sound music studio in Carrboro , North Carolina . Jamie King was responsible for the mastering. The redesign of the logo and the design of the cover was done by Chris Prince, while Marek Jastrzebski was responsible for the layout of the CD booklet.

A “crazy video” was shot for the song You Died . Otherwise there were two concerts in North Carolina on the occasion of the publication.

Trivia

The band is known for its basic geek-heavy texts, in particular for several songs related to the fantasy cycle Dune by Frank Herbert . On the album HyperGlaive these references can be found in the song Behold the Worm .

reception

At Powermetal.de , the album won first place in the soundcheck 12/2016 and received 9 out of 10 points in the individual review. In the sum of the individual parts, "Joy of playing, innovative, gripping riffs and solos and a natural, but also powerful production" were named, which led to a very positive conclusion:
