I'm Alive (in German : I live) is a song by the Albanian singer Elhaida Dani . It was written by the composers Arbër Elshani and Kristijan Lekaj (Zzap'n'Chriss) . The English text is from Lindita Halimi , the Albanian from Sokol Marsi. The song was presented on March 15, 2015 as an Albanian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna , Austria .
prehistory
The singer Elhaida Dani had won the Festivali i Këngës 2015, the Albanian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , with the ballad Diell , but the Albanian television station RTSH wanted to rewrite the song in English . Since the composer Aldo Shllaku did not agree with this, one had to choose another song for the ESC. The song I'm Alive was chosen .
composition
The song was written by the Albanian composers Arbër Elshani and Kristijan Lekaj, known as Zzap'n'Chriss . They said it only took three days to create the song. The song was later revised by Macedonian songwriter Darko Dimitrov.
The Albanian text of the song was written by Sokol Marsi, the English version by Lindita Halimi , who also took part in the Festivali i Këngës 2015 and came third.
Music video
The music video of the song is about strong women, according to the producers of ProVideo . This is presented by showing women in the video who have a typical male profession, for example that of a firefighter . The video also tells the story of a young woman who is waiting for her great love, which she is convinced will come.
The Albanian version, including a new music video, was published on May 2, 2015 on the YouTube channel of the Eurovision Song Contest.
Eurovision Song Contest
Elhaida Dani appeared with the song at the Eurovision Song Contest in the first semifinal at starting position 14 and was able to qualify for the final, where she landed in 17th place.
