IBX (official name: IBX Group AB ) is an international provider of solutions and services for the procurement of large and medium-sized companies. Only in Sweden does IBX still operate under this name. In all other countries, it is part of Tradeshift's Business Services division . Tradeshift and IBX offer consulting services and on-demand solutions for operational and strategic purchasing and call themselves the world's largest trading platform and a leader in the e-procurement business .

history

The company was founded in 2000 as IBX Integrated Business Exchange AB by Ericsson , SEB and B-Business Partners in Stockholm . Among the founders were Hans Ahlinder, Björn Böhme, Christer Hallqvist and Peter Lageson. The first time was used to set up an application environment and to implement it at Ericsson and SEB. To this end, agreements have been made with SAP and Commerce One .

Since it was founded, IBX has been growing continuously and is also active in the other Northern European countries . In 2004, IBX started expansion throughout Europe by signing a long-term contract with Deutsche Post .

IBX has also been represented in Germany since 2005 through the acquisition of the Post-Lufthansa joint venture trimondo GmbH .

In October 2006 IBX took over Portum AG, founded in 1999 and based in Frankfurt am Main , a company mainly active in Germany, France and Spain, which specializes in e-sourcing (electronic tenders and electronic auctions in the B2B sector). Since then, IBX has been offering e-sourcing, e-procurement and e-payment solutions across Europe and is managed by Leif Bohlin.

In 2010 IBX was bought by Capgemini and since then has only operated under the name IBX in Sweden. In all other countries it is part of Capgemini's "Business Services" division and operates as the "IBX Business Network".

On April 1, 2017, Tradeshift from San Francisco acquired the IBX Business Network including the Portum solution from Capgemini. This merger of the two companies created the world's largest trading platform, which connects around 1.5 million companies and has more than 500 global companies among its customers.

As a result, on September 1, 2017, the European service desk was relocated from Krakow to the location of Tradeshift's European headquarters in Bucharest . The "Portum" system, which is designed for electronic auctions and electronic tenders, is operated under this name.
