The IFRA (INCA FIEJ Research Association) was an international association of companies in the newspaper - and media industry , primarily newspaper publishers and media companies. In 2009 there was a merger with WAN under the name WAN-IFRA . The association had over 3000 members in more than 70 countries. The international conferences and meetings organized by IFRA promoted exchange within Europe . Every month she published the journal Zeitungstechnik, which appeared in four languages ​​( German , English , French and Spanish ). It was also published quarterly in Chinese . The IfraExpo trade fair, organized annually by IFRA in major European cities, was considered the world's most important trade fair for newspaper companies. As the host of the International Newspaper Color Quality Club , she contributed to the improvement of the reproduction and print quality in daily production. It also provided IFRASearch, a special search engine for the printing industry.

history

IFRA emerged from the merger of two organizations:

  • In 1961 the INCA (International Newspaper Color Association) was founded by Belgian, German and British publishers.
  • In collaboration with the FIEJ (French Fédération Internationale des Editeurs de Journaux) the "INCA FIEJ Research Association" was created. From this, the abbreviation IFRA was derived in 1970, which was used as an independent name.
