history

In January 1922 the wrestling club Brottarklubben Atleten was founded , which later also included football in its program. At the end of the decade, the Borstahusens BK was the first pure football team in the town, and later the Borstahusens IF . Borstahusens Bollklubb was founded in 1942 from the football team, which had meanwhile fallen asleep, and officially registered with both Riksidrottsförbundet and Svenska Fotbollförbundet in January 1943 . In 1947 the two clubs finally merged to form the IK Atleten , six years later the wrestling division dissolved.

Until now, the club had only played in the lower tier of the Swedish league pyramid, but at the end of the 1962 season it rose to the third highest division for the first time. There the team had no chance and at the end of the season rose six points behind the non-relegation places together with BK Drott and IF Allians . Behind Klippan's BoIF and Lunds BK , the team missed the rise in the following seasons as runners-up, who succeeded in 1966 as the season winner. Eight points behind season winner Åstorps IF , the club finished its first season on the higher level than fifth in the table to manage the march into the second division in the following year before Limhamns IF and Gunnarstorps IF .

In the second division, the club missed relegation only due to the poorer goal difference against Ifö / Bromölla IF and rose again together with Blomstermåla IK and Sölvesborgs GoIF . After relegation, the club changed its name and renamed itself Borstahusens Bollklubb . First placed in the middle of the table, the club repeated the relay victory in 1974. Behind IFK Hässleholm and Jönköpings Södra IF , he missed the return to the second division in the promotion round. In the following season, the worse goal difference compared to Råå IF meant only the runner-up, 1976 followed the crash in the fourth division. At the end of the 1980 season, the club returned to the third level, where it lasted until 1984. Two years later he was the victim of a league reform and downgraded to the fifth division. With this, the club said goodbye to higher-class football.
