The Langeoog IV is one of the two main ferries that operate between the North Sea island of Langeoog and the mainland port of Bensersiel .

The ship was built at the Julius Diedrich shipyard in Oldersum and is a pure passenger ferry. Apart from people, only their luggage is transported, which is transported to the foredeck in small containers with an e-cart.

In January 1998 the ship received a boat deck with a launching device.

At the beginning of 2013, both main engines as well as both gearboxes and shaft couplings were renewed.
