The Frisia VII is a landing ship , which is used for the shipping company Norden-Frisia as a cargo ship from Norddeich to Norderney and Juist .
history
The Frisia VII was built in 1984 under the construction number 2161 at VEB Oderwerft Eisenhüttenstadt for the People's Army of the GDR with the name GSP 65 . The keel was laid in February, the launch in May 1984. The ship was completed in August 1984. In 1993, the ship was renamed BD 4 . In 1995 the ship was shortened by ten meters and has since been used as a cargo ship between Norddeich and the islands of Juist and Norderney.
Transport capacity
The Frisia VII has three lanes. The middle lane is 53 meters long and three meters wide, the other two lanes are each 34 meters long and 2.65 meters wide. This corresponds to a RoRo loading area of 121 meters, which can accommodate seven articulated trucks . The total loading weight must not exceed 300 tons.
Technical Equipment
The ship is powered by two six - cylinder four - stroke diesel engines from the manufacturer AB Volvo Penta, each with an output of 300 kW , which act on two fixed propellers via gears.
Two generators with an apparent power of 38 kVA or 35 kVA and an auxiliary generator with an output of 4 kW are available for the power supply.
