ISO 3166-2: EC
The list of ISO-3166-2 codes for Ecuador contains the codes for the 24 Ecuadorian provinces (provincia).
The codes consist of two parts separated by a hyphen. The first part gives the country code according to ISO 3166-1 (for Ecuador EC
), the second the code for the province.
The current country code was last updated in Newsletter II-2 of June 30, 2010 ( PDF ).
The current codes are available on the ISO website under #iso: code: 3166: EC .
The original codes were published in the fourth newsletter of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO, international standardization organization) from December 10, 2002 on the province of Orellana with the code EC-D
and in 2010 in the newsletter II-2 on Santa Elena ( EC-SE
) and Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas ( EC-SD
) expanded.
