Iamsu! (Born November 16, 1989 in Richmond , California ; civil Sudan Ameer Williams ) is an American rapper .

Career

In 2010 Williams began publishing as a rapper, first under the name Su , later as Iamsu! . In 2012 he was a guest on the single Up! represented by LoveRance , which appeared in two versions with Skipper and 50 Cent . It reached the top 50 of the US singles chart and number 2 on the R&B charts and earned him appropriate attention. Who Booty , a collaboration with Jonn Hart, was equally successful at the end of the year.

He himself published numerous mixtapes up to 2012, on which well-known musicians such as Wiz Khalifa and Juvenile played. Initially, he gave them out freely, then he distributed them through iTunes . His first own single Let Go was still unsuccessful in 2013, but the associated mixtape Kilt 2 at least made it into the R&B charts. Another success brought another collaboration, this time with the rapper Sage the Gemini in the song Gas Pedal . The song hit number 29 on the US charts and sold over a million copies.

Iamsu's debut album was released in spring 2014! entitled Sincerely Yours . It debuted at number 50 on the Billboard 200 and hit number 6 on the rap album charts.
