Ian Hutchinson (born August 4, 1948 in Derby , † September 19, 2002 in London ) was an English football player .
life and career
Hutchinson began his career near his hometown Derby at the low-class club Burton Albion and via Cambridge United he moved to Chelsea in July 1968 for a transfer fee of £ 5,000 . The Englishman was a great and disinterested player and was known for his throw-ins. He made his debut for the "Blues" against Ipswich Town , where he prepared two goals thanks to his throw-ins. With Chelsea, Hutchinson won the FA Cup in 1970 . Despite strong performances in his appearances, Hutchinson was also known for his many injuries. He broke his foot twice, his arm once and his toe once . The knee problems were also due to the fact that he could not contribute to the victory in the European Cup Winners' Cup of the Blues in 1971 . This season, Hutchinson came on only four missions. In July 1976 he ended his career. He played 144 times for Chelsea and scored 58 goals. Ian Hutchinson died in September 2002 at the age of 54 after a long illness.
