Ian Keith

Ian Keith (born February 27, 1899 in Boston , † March 26, 1960 in New York City ; actually Keith Ross ) was an American theater and film actor .

Life

Ian Keiths started out as a stage actor on New York Broadway in the 1920s. From 1924 he expanded his acting career by appearing in a number of silent films . With the advent of talkies , he was mostly a villain. In 1930, the planning director Tod Browning , Bram Stoker's novel Dracula to adapt for a movie. After Lon Chaney passed away , there were two actors to choose from: Ian Keith and Bela Lugosi . The role of the Transylvanian Count in Dracula was later awarded to Lugosi and thus became famous. Keith ended his career as an actor in various B-movies , but his main focus remained on his Broadway career. Ian Keith has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .
