Ian Weber (born May 24, 2000 in Darmstadt ) is a German handball player .
The 1.90 meter tall middle back player has been playing for the Bundesliga team of HSG Wetzlar since 2018 .
Career
Ian Weber initially played for HSG Weiterstadt / Braunshardt / Worfelden before playing for HSG Wetzlar in the A-Jugend-Bundesliga from 2016. In the 2016/17 season he won the German championship title with the Wetzlar U19 against the A-youth of Füchse Berlin on June 3, 2017. In the second half of 2017/18 he also played with a second game right for SG Groß-Bieberau / Modau in the 3rd division. Weber has been part of the expanded Bundesliga squad at HSG Wetzlar since 2018/19. On November 10, 2019, he scored his first goal in the Bundesliga against league leaders TSV Hannover-Burgdorf . For the 2020/21 season he will switch to TV Hüttenberg .
Weber has played 27 international matches for the German national youth team.
