Kristian Bjørnsen (born January 10, 1989 in Stavanger , Norway ) is a Norwegian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Norwegian national team.

Career

Kristian Bjørnsen played for the Norwegian club Stavanger Håndball until 2009. Then the right winger joined the Norwegian first division club Fyllingen Håndball . In 2014 the left-hander moved to the Swedish first division club IFK Kristianstad , with whom he won the Swedish championship in 2015 and 2016. He has been under contract with the German Bundesliga club HSG Wetzlar since summer 2016 .

Bjørnsen has so far played 125 international matches for the Norwegian national handball team. With Norway he took part in the 2016 European handball championship in Poland. With Norway he was runner- up in 2017 and 2019 .

His sister Line also plays handball professionally.
