Ibrahim Sorie Kamara (born April 6, 1949 in Rokupr ) is a retired Sierra Leonean politician and diplomat .

He is a widower and has eight children.

Ibrahim Sorie Kamara attended the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Primary School in Rokupr and then the Kolenten Secondary School in Kambia . From 1969 he studied history and politics at the University of Sierra Leone . He received his Bachelor of Arts in Education from Fourah Bay College in 1974 . In 1981 he received his degree in business administration from Glasgow Caledonian University .

Career

Ibrahim Sorie Kamara was an assistant teacher at the Boys Secondary School, Kissy Mess Mess of the Sierra Leone Muslim Congress in Freetown from 1968 to 1969 . He later worked from 1974 to 1977 as a teacher at the Sierra Leone Muslim Brotherhood Secondary School on Berry Street in Freetown. He then worked until 1981 as a marketing representative for the motor insurance department of the state-run Sierra Leone National Insurance Company . In 1981 he was assistant director of motor insurance for the Sierra Leone National Insurance Company . He then moved to Pauline Marie Trading Company, National Shipping Compound, Cline City, Freetown, where he was Chief Executive Officer until 1982 . From 1982 until his transfer to the retired , in 2012 he was parliamentarian of Sierra Leone for the constituency Kambia Central Constituency in the Northern Province (Sierra Leone) . He thus had the longest period of service of any parliamentarian.

He was Whip the All People's Congress (Sierra Leone) in Parliament (Sierra Leone) , Chairman of the All People's Congress (Sierra Leone) in Cambodia and from 1982 to 1985 Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Natural Resources. From 1985 to 1986 he was Minister for Trade, Industry and State Enterprises. In addition to his political activities, he was a businessman, insurance broker and management consultant from 1986 to 1996.

From 2007 to 2012 he was a member of the parliament of the West African Economic Community in Abuja .

In April 2012, Ernest Koroma accepted him as a commander in the Order of the National Honorary Award of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the second highest civilian national award, and sworn in as justice of the peace and commissioner. He has been ambassador to Brussels since November 4, 2013 . He is also accredited to the Holy See .
