Music style and lyrics

Musically, Kerstin Ott mixes pop , dance , folk and hits on the album .

The third album by Kerstin Ott aims to portray the artist from her vulnerable side. It contains personal stories with all the ups and downs of their experiences. The songs are accordingly about love, strength and hope, but also about loneliness and struggles in difficult times. Ott says he wants to give courage and consolation with her songs.

The theme song addresses the getting to know each other with her wife Karolina Köppen, to whom the track My heart stands still is dedicated . In the song Look , she calls for a moment to pause and not rush from appointment to appointment. On the one hand, the song I go my way is to be understood as a perseverance hymn, on the other hand, Ott looks back on her beginnings in the music business and also discusses her participation in the Let's Dance show . On the other hand, the song Silence is socially critical is their way of crying , a request not to leave older people alone. Berliner Luft, on the other hand, is a dance song for the clubs in which she addresses her Berlin origins. Because of you (Night when everything sleeps) based on Howard Carpendale's hit song Night when everything sleeps .

reception

The editors of mix1.de awarded 7 out of 8 points to the album. The MDR wrote: "With her third album, Kerstin Ott presents herself directly and sensitively."

Much worse came I have to tell you something at Laut.de away. Toni Henning criticized the lack of musical variety. Instead, the down-to-earth and personable nature of the artist would be sacrificed to a lifeless sound. He wrote: “In the end, the album works no more and no less than the credo: The less you emphasize the personality musically, the more money the product pours into the coffers. This guarantees that Ich muss Was Sagen sells like sliced bread just like its predecessors. "

Singles

The pre-single Schau mal was released on October 11, 2019. When the album was pre-ordered, Schau mal was activated as a direct download. On January 10, 2020, Because of you was finally released as a single as a duet with Howard Carpendale. One day later, the premiere took place on Florian Silbereisen's show Schlagerchampions .

The album's title track was released as a single on May 21, 2020.
