Ida Krzyzanowski-Doxat , often misspelled Ida Krzyzanowski-Dorat , born Ida Doxat ( January 24, 1867 in Senozec , Carniola - March 8, 1947 in Graz ) was an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Ida Doxat, the daughter of a kk Austrian district commissioner, was discovered by Marie Wilt . She took singing lessons from Louise Dustmann and began her stage career in Halle in 1889 , where she made her debut as "Elisabeth" in Tannhäuser , worked in 1890 at the Stadttheater am Brausenwerth in Elberfeld , from 1891 to 1895 at the Stadttheater in Leipzig , from September 1896 to spring 1898 at the Stadttheater in Hamburg and then at the court theater in Weimar until 1904.

She was considered to be an excellent Wagner singer . She was invited to sing "Isolde" and "Senta" at the model performances in Munich, took part in the Wagner cycle in Dresden, where she embodied "Brünnhilde", appeared three times as a guest at the Court Opera House in Vienna in November 1894, as well as every year at the great Wagner concerts in London.

The critics described her as an excellent actress in the field of highly dramatic phenomena, of special truth and depth of feeling, of glowing passion and at the same time great self-control. Her persevering and well-trained vocal resources were praised.

In addition to Wagner roles, Meyerbeer's “Valentine” such as “ Fidelio ”, “Donna Anna” etc.

The artist, who was appointed ducal chamber singer as a result of her services, was married to the Weimar court conductor Rudolf Krzyzanowski .

She had lived in Graz since 1911, and died very old on March 8, 1947 in the Lamberg nursing home, where she had spent the last years of her life.
