Ignatius Jerome Strecker (born November 23, 1917 in Spearville , Kansas , USA , † October 16, 2003 ) was Archbishop of Kansas City .

Life

Ignatius Jerome Strecker received on 19 December 1942, the bishop of Wichita , Christian Hermann Winkelmann , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 7, 1962, Pope John XXIII appointed him . to the Bishop of Springfield-Cape Girardeau . The Archbishop of Kansas City, Edward Joseph Hunkeler , donated him episcopal ordination on June 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Kansas City-Saint Joseph , Charles Herman Helmsing , and the Bishop of Dodge City , Marion Francis Forst . The inauguration took place on June 28, 1962.

On September 4, 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to Archbishop of Kansas City. The inauguration took place on October 28 of the same year.

On June 28, 1993, Pope John Paul II accepted Ignatius Jerome Strecker's resignation due to reasons of age.
