Ignaz Burri

Ignaz Burri (born September 12, 1872 in Malters ; † March 13, 1958 , Catholic , resident in Malters) was a Swiss politician (FDP) .

biography

Ignaz Burri was born on September 12, 1872, the son of the farmer and Lucerne councilor Ignaz Burri senior and Barbara, née Bächler, in Malters. Burri was married to Maria Josefa, born Fuchs, and was a farmer by profession. From 1935 to 1955 he presided over the Central Switzerland Milk Association .

The free-spirited politician was a member of the Lucerne Grand Council from 1919 to 1947 and the National Council from 1928 to 1947 . Burri did not see himself as a party politician, but as a representative of the interests of the peasant class.

Ignaz Burri died on March 13, 1958 at the age of 85 in Malters.
