Ignaz Rohrbach (Czech: Ignác Rohrbach ; * 1691 in Kaiserswalde , County Glatz ; † October 25, 1747 in Chrudim ) was a German sculptor who worked in Eastern Bohemia .

Life

Ignaz Rohrbach is considered to be the main representative of the East Bohemian early baroque. After training as a sculptor with Franz Pacák , a student of the sculptor Matthias Bernhard Braun , Rohrbach worked from 1724 in the workshop of the sculptor Johann Paul Czechpauer ( Jan Pavel Čechpauer ) in Chrudim in East Bohemia. After Czechpauer's death around 1726 he completed several of the works he had begun. He continued his workshop and married the widow he left behind.

Works

Ignaz Rohrbach created numerous works for churches and castles in Eastern Bohemia. Some are in museums.
