Ignazio Sanna

Ignazio Sanna (born February 20, 1942 in Orune , Nuoro Province , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Oristano . He is president of the Pontifical Academy of Theology .

Life

Ignazio Sanna received on 11 March 1967, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 22, 2006 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Oristano. The Cardinal Vicar of the Diocese of Rome , Camillo Cardinal Ruini , donated him episcopal ordination on June 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Rome, Rino Fisichella , and the archbishop emeritus of Oristano, Pier Giuliano Tiddia .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on May 4, 2019.

Ignazio Sanna is a member of the Pontifical Academy of Theology , of which he was appointed President on June 3, 2019.
