Igor Maximowitsch Mussatow ( Russian Игорь Максимович Мусатов ; born September 23, 1987 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was last under contract with HC Slovan Bratislava in the Continental Hockey League .

Igor Mussatow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HK Spartak Moscow , for whose professional team he was active in the super league from 2004 to 2006 . Then the winger also played for two years for his league rivals Ak Bars Kazan , before he was on the ice during the 2008/09 season for Neftjanik Leninogorsk from the Vysschaya League , the second Russian division, and Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk from the newly founded Continental Hockey League was standing.

In the summer of 2009, Mussatov returned to his hometown club Spartak Moscow, for which he played in the following one and a half seasons before he received a contract with its competitor Atlant Mytishchi in December 2010 . Mussatov played there until the end of the 2011/12 season and was then without a club. It was not until the end of September 2012 that he was signed by Salawat Julajew Ufa .

In November 2013 it was given to Lokomotive Yaroslavl as part of a ring exchange in which Nikita Schtschitow and Maxim Trunjow were also involved . By December 22, 2014 Mussatow completed 56 KHL games for Yaroslavl before he was released from his contract. A day later he was signed by HK Awangard Omsk .

Between November 2016 and the end of the 2016/17 season he played for HC Slovan Bratislava in the KHL.

International

For Russia , Mussatov took part in the U20 World Junior Championship in 2007 , where he and his team were runner-up. He contributed to this success with one goal in six games.
