Ikorodu is a city in the Nigerian state of Lagos . According to an estimate from 2006, it has 321,809 inhabitants. With its surroundings it forms one of the 20 Local Government Areas (LGA) of the state.
Ikorodu is located at the northern end of the Lagos Lagoon , 23 km northeast of Lagos. The LGA borders Kosofe , Epe and the northern state of Ogun and has an area of 393.94 km². The Nigerian high life musician Bobby Benson (1922–1983) comes from Ikorodu.
