Ilie Ceaușescu

Ilie Ceauşescu (born June 8, 1926 in Scorniceşti , Romania ; † October 1, 2002 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian lieutenant general and historian .

Ceauşescu was a member of the Romanian Communist Party and the younger brother of the state and party leader Nicolae Ceauşescu . His military and political rise and fall was linked to that of his brother, until 1989 Ilie Ceaușescu served him as Deputy Minister of Defense . After the death of Defense Minister Vasile Milea during the revolution in December 1989 , Ilie Ceaușescu served as acting minister for a few days. He was also listed as the editor of several military-historical treatises (including a multi-volume military history of the Romanian people ), in which he published some highly controversial theses ( e.g. Unorganized State , 200-day thesis ).
