Imata Kabua

Imata Jabro Kabua ( May 20, 1943 - September 17, 2019 ) was a politician from the Marshall Islands . It came from the Kwajalein Atoll. From 1997 to 2000 he was the second president of the archipelago.

After the death of his cousin Amata Kabua, Kabua was elected by parliament as his successor. When he took office, he made the reduction of foreign debt the focus of his policy.

After the parliamentary elections in November 1999, Kessai Note was elected as his successor. The handover took place on January 10, 2000.
