Litokwa Tomeing
Litokwa Tomeing (born October 14, 1939 on the Wotje Atoll , Ratak chain ) was President of the Marshall Islands from January 7, 2008 to October 21, 2009 .
Litokwa Tomeing is a member of the United People's Party (UPP). On January 7th, 2008 he was elected as the new president by the parliament with 18:15 votes and thus successor to Kessai Note .
During his tenure, Tomeing survived two votes of no confidence. On October 21, he was defeated in another vote of no confidence with 17:15 votes. The President of Parliament named Ruben Zackhras as his successor, who would lead the office until a new President was elected.
