Imperial is a city in central western Peru in the Cañete province ( Lima region ). The city is the administrative seat of the district of the same name . The 2017 census counted 27,732 residents, 10 years earlier the population was 26,867.
Geographical location
The city of Imperial is located at an altitude of 85 m in the coastal plain, 9 km from the Pacific coast. The Río Cañete flows 7 km south of the city to the sea. The provincial capital of San Vicente de Cañete is located 4 km southwest of Imperial . Irrigated agriculture is practiced in the area around Imperial.
