Inès Marie Laetitia Eglantine Isabelle de Seignard de la Fressange (born August 11, 1957 in Gassin ) is a former French model and a fashion and perfume designer.

Life

Her father, Marquis André de Seignard de La Fressange, was a securities dealer , her Argentine mother, Cecilia Sanchez Cirez, a model . She grew up with three brothers in an 18th century mill outside Paris . Her grandmother was Madame Simone Jacquinot, heiress of the Lazard Bank property . On June 19, 1990, she married the Italian railway manager Luigi d'Urso, with whom she has two daughters. He died of a heart condition on March 23, 2006 at the age of 52.

Career

In the 1980s, Inès de la Fressange modeled for the Chanel fashion house . In 1983 she signed an exclusive seven-year deal with Chanel. She founded the model cult, which fashion brands and designers use specifically for their advertising. She was the muse of Karl Lagerfeld , the chief designer at Chanel; In 1989 the two separated in a dispute. Since then she has rarely modeled, but works as a designer and consultant to Jean Paul Gaultier , for whom she returned to the catwalk in 2008.

In 1991 she opened her own label with investors from the Louis Vuitton family with stores in Europe, the USA and Japan, but parted ways with shareholders in the early 2000s (and the brand was no longer used afterwards); in the process she lost the rights to her name, against which she sued unsuccessfully. The brand was relaunched in 2015 with new investors and since then she has been working again as a designer and creative director for her own brand.

In April 2011 Inès de La Fressange published the Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Ines de la Fressange, which she illustrated herself.
