In Slumber is an Austrian melodic death metal band from Linz .
history
The band was founded in the winter of 2002/03 by Wolfgang Rothbauer, the band leader of Thirdmoon , as a side project, in which the ThirdMoon drummer Johannes Jungreithmeier also took part from June 2003. Together they record the debut album “Stillborn Rebirth”, which consists of material written by Rothbauer and thematically deals with the borderline syndrome . Good reviews bring in numerous requests for performances, whereupon Wolfgang Rothbauer decides to make a real band out of In Slumber . He puts together a fixed line-up that ultimately consists of Simon Öller and Robert Bogner on guitar, bassist Manuel Bauer and drummer Markus Pointner. Numerous appearances will be made with this line-up over the next few years.
In 2004 Rothbauer founded the death metal project Eisblut with some Eisregen members , where he worked as lead guitarist. Work on another album for ThirdMoon is also slowing down work on new material for In Slumber. They only go back to the studio in the summer of 2006, where drums, bass and vocals are recorded. The album is then mixed and mastered in Aarhus, Denmark by Peter “Ziggy” Siegfredsen and Tue Madsen . A promo CD brought In Slumber in early 2007 a record deal with Massacre Records , where on March 23, 2007 the album "Scars Incomplete" was released.
