Ines Müller (born Reichenbach ; born January 2, 1959 in Grimmen , Rostock district ) is a former German shot putter who started for the GDR .

Life

She won gold in the discus throw at the European Junior Championships in 1977 . In 1980, she was eighth in the shot put at the Olympic Games in Moscow. The following year she won silver at the Universiade . She also won silver at the World Indoor Games in Paris in 1985 and at the 1986 European Championships in Stuttgart. In 1987 she won bronze at the World Championships in Rome. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, she was fourth. In 1985 and 1986 she was DDR champion, 1984 and 1988 runner-up. In the hall she was GDR champion in 1984 and runner-up in 1979 and 1980.

Ines Müller is 1.82 m tall and weighed 90 kg during her competition time. She started for the SC Empor Rostock . In the documents on state doping in the GDR that became public after the reunification , the name of Müller was also found among the doped athletes.
