Inga Hosp

Inga Hosp (* 1943 in Munich as Inga Schmidt ) is a publicist.

Hosp studied German and theater studies at the Universities of Innsbruck and Vienna . In 1969 she obtained her doctorate with a dissertation on the Austrian-Bavarian peasant drama . She works as a freelance journalist. As a freelancer, her contributions were broadcast on Bayerischer Rundfunk , Rai-Sender Bozen and ORF-Tirol . She has published numerous articles and essays in magazines and anthologies, as well as several books, mostly on South Tyrolean topics. Hosp is involved in South Tyrolean cultural life in many ways, where she co-founded several initiatives such as the Merano Poetry Prize and the Ritten Summer Games . She is a member of the PEN Club Liechtenstein and the South Tyrolean Artists Association . In 2007 she was awarded the Cross of Merit and in 2012 the Medal of Honor of the State of Tyrol .

Her husband is the former South Tyrolean politician Bruno Hosp .
