Arunda is a cultural magazine that has been published in Schlanders in South Tyrol's Vinschgau since 1976 . It is dedicated to regional and cultural history as well as ethnological topics, which are processed in factual texts, literature, photography and contributions from the visual arts. The title of the magazine refers to the Arundakopf , a mountain in the Vinschgau near the border with Switzerland , and is intended to express both down-to-earthness and foresight.
A special feature of Arunda is its changing format, its irregular appearance and the orientation towards key topics, so that it shows strong parallels to a book series . Changing editors are responsible for the various issues of the magazine; the editorial work has been carried out by an editorial group around the cultural journalist Hans Wielander since it was founded .
To date, several hundred authors have published in Arunda, mainly with reference to the cultural public around South Tyrol, including Valentin von Braitenberg , Roberta Dapunt, Josef Feichtinger, Paul Flora , Helene Flöss , Anton Frühauf , Gertrud Fussenegger , Sabine Gruber , Hans Haid , Norbert C. Kaser , Florian Kronbichler , Kurt Lanthaler , Andrea Mascagni , Klaus Menapace, Felix Mitterer , Gerhard Mumelter , Josef Oberhollenzer , Anita Pichler , Siegfried de Rachewiltz , Herbert Rosendorfer , Kristian Sotriffer , Luis Stefan Stecher , Arnold Tribus , Johannes E. Trojer, Franz Tumler , Markus Vallazza and Joseph Zoderer .
For the 40th anniversary of the journal, the Brenner Archive research institute created online documentation that bibliographically recorded all editions and made out-of-print editions digitally accessible.
