Anita Pichler

Anita Pichler (born January 28, 1948 in Meran , Italy ; † April 6, 1997 in Bozen , Italy) was a German-speaking writer from South Tyrol .

Life

Anita Pichler grew up in South Tyrol and from 1965 in Trieste . She completed her studies in Slavic Studies at the University of Venice with a thesis on Velimir Khlebnikov . From 1978 to 1982 she lived in East Berlin ; then she was lecturer for German at the University of Venice. In 1986 she took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt . From 1986 on she lived as a freelance writer between Venice, Vienna, Berlin and South Tyrol.

Anita Pichler wrote stories, short prose texts and poetry; she also translated from Italian into German .
