Ingemar König

Ingemar König (born December 16, 1938 in Saaz ) is a German ancient historian .

Ingemar König studied history , Romance studies (French) and German from 1960 to 1967 at the universities of Tübingen , Geneva and Bern . In 1967 he received his doctorate in Tübingen and then worked as a research assistant at the Department of Ancient History and Epigraphy at the University of Bern. There he worked on the CIL XVII: Miliaria Romana [Narbonensis, Tres Galliae] . From 1972, König was an academic advisor at the University of Trier, where he completed his habilitation in 1983 and from 1988 held an extraordinary professorship. In 2004 he retired.

König deals with all areas of Roman history and with Roman constitutional law .
