Ingo Hertzsch (born July 22, 1977 in Meerane ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
societies
Hertzsch took his first steps in football at BSG Stahl Callenberg and BSG Motor Hohenstein-Ernstthal before joining Chemnitzer FC in the summer before German reunification . There he already played as a teenager in the then third-class regional league for the first men's team of the Himmelblauen.
In the Bundesliga he started his career at the beginning of 1997 with Hamburger SV . In 2003 he moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where he was unable to assert himself. In the 2003/04 season he was loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt , but could not prevent Eintracht Frankfurt's relegation to the 2nd division . From the 2004/05 season Ingo Hertzsch played for 1. FC Kaiserslautern , with whom he was again relegated from the Bundesliga in the 2005/06 season. For the 2006/07 season he moved to the second division promoted FC Augsburg .
Hertzsch played for RB Leipzig since the 2009/10 season . After he had ended his professional career on June 30, 2011, he received a follow-up contract in the marketing department of RB Leipzig. He also acted as a stand-by player in the reserve. In the summer of 2013 he ended his career as a soccer player.
National team
Ingo Hertzsch started in 1997 in the U-21 team of the DFB. As part of qualifying for the 2000 Olympic football tournament , he also took part in three games of the German Olympic football team in 1998. He scored a goal in the 1-1 draw against China.
Hertzsch played two international matches for the German national team : 2000 against Denmark and in August 2002 in the first game of the vice world champions against Bulgaria. He was in the starting line-up in both games.
